Huawei Emphasizes Digitalization in Turkey

Huawei Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Electric Energy Digitalization Lifei Liu stated that digitalization is critically important in the energy sector for reducing transmission losses and improving grid management. Liu emphasized the benefits that can be achieved through the correct use of data by saying, "Trust in digitalization, but do not rely solely on digitalization."

Cybersecurity and Digitalization

Liu also highlighted the increasing cybersecurity risks associated with digitalization. "Cybersecurity can lead to significant losses if neglected. One of the most affected sectors is finance and energy," he stated. Liu pointed out that digitalization requires a holistic approach that encompasses people, processes, and assets, not just technological measures.

Opportunities in the Turkish Market

Lifei Liu noted that Turkey’s energy market holds a special position for them, saying, "Turkey is making significant investments in the energy sector, which presents substantial opportunities." He remarked that the increasing energy demand parallel to Turkey's growing population has also contributed to the development of new technologies.

Need for Local Production

Liu expressed the following regarding local production: "In many countries, companies seeking to enter the market are expected to provide a certain level of local contribution." Huawei is working with transmission and distribution system companies in Turkey to develop High-Speed Power Line Communication (HPLC) technology.

Local Workforce and R&D Efforts

Pointing out Huawei's localization efforts in Turkey, Liu mentioned that the company employs many local workers. He also stated that with Turkey's young and talented workforce, it could become an important center for R&D efforts.

Liu said, "We have learned to collaborate with local manufacturers in the telecommunications field, and we will extend this approach to other sectors."
