President Erdoğan's Statements on the Defense Industry

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the Special Program for the Republic Day on October 29 at the Presidential Complex.

Referring to Turkey's historical journey, Erdoğan stated, "As long as the nation embraces each other with love, no internal or external force can hinder Turkey's blessed journey."

Building Peace and Tranquility

Erdoğan emphasized, "We are determined to patiently and resolutely build a Turkey where the threat of terrorism is completely eliminated and tranquility is at its highest level."

Major Developments in the Defense Industry

Today, Erdoğan pointed out that Turkey is at a much more advanced position compared to 102 years ago, highlighting that a significant mobilization for development is being carried out in every field from the defense industry to the economy, from transportation to education, and from health to agriculture.

“Yesterday, we inaugurated a commendable facility for our defense industry in Kahramankazan; we completed the delivery of Altay tanks to our Armed Forces,” he announced an important development. Erdoğan emphasized the goal of adding 256 Altay tanks to the military's inventory within the next six years.

Turkey’s Defense Capability

President Erdoğan expressed that Turkey, as a nation that won the War of Independence, has reached the point of producing its own tanks, warships, UAVs, helicopters, and fighter jets. "Twenty years ago, our defense industry was 80% dependent on external sources; now we have risen to a position where we can compete with the world." he said.

Emphasizing what can be achieved when the steering wheel is in capable hands, Erdoğan stated that Turkey has demonstrated "a strong presence both on the ground and at the negotiating table" from ending wars and conflicts to humanitarian crises and disasters.
