In İğneada, a district of Kırklareli's Demirköy, 3 tons of sardines caught below the legal size limit were confiscated. This incident serves as an important warning, especially for local fishermen.

Inspection Results and Penalties

During inspections conducted off the coast of İğneada, teams from the Coast Guard Command detected 307 crates of sardines on a fishing boat caught under the 13 centimeters legal size limit. An administrative fine was imposed on the boat captain and three crew members.

Distribution of Confiscated Sardines to Those in Need

The confiscated fish were handed over to the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation by teams from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and distributed to those in need. This exemplifies a beautiful act of social solidarity.
