DUBAI, UAE, November 17, 2025 – Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Emirates announced that the world's largest international airline has placed its third order for the 777X aircraft to support future expansion and meet growing travel demand. The new order for 65 Boeing 777-9 passenger airplanes was unveiled at a signing ceremony held during the Dubai Airshow.

Emirates continues to enhance its global network by operating the Boeing 777 as its flagship carrier and is one of the launch customers of the new 777X family. It had previously placed two orders totaling 205 aircraft. With the new acquisition, Emirates' 777X order will reach 270 aircraft, covering both the 777-9 and 777-8 models, solidifying its position as the largest 777X customer.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and Group, stated, "Emirates, as the world's largest operator of the Boeing 777, is expanding our commitment to the program today with this additional order for 65 Boeing 777-9 aircraft. This represents a long-term commitment to our partnership with Boeing and to American aviation."

Al Maktoum noted, "Every aircraft we have ordered is carefully integrated into Emirates' growth plans in alignment with Dubai's growth plans."

The 777-9, built on the successful 777 series, will be the largest twin-engine jet in the world and will set new standards for efficiency and passenger experience. The 777-9 is expected to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 20% compared to previous aircraft. Passengers will enjoy a more spacious and airy cabin, improved humidity levels, a smoother ride, and more natural light.

Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, remarked, "We are deeply honored that Emirates has once again chosen the Boeing 777X. The airline selecting this aircraft to refresh its world-class fleet and expand its global network is a testament to our strong collaboration." She added, "Boeing is proud to be a part of Emirates’ success in becoming one of the world’s leading carriers over the past 40 years."

Major carriers around the world have selected the 777X for its robust design to manage high-capacity, long-range routes. Boeing's 2025 Commercial Market Outlook presents a projection for sustained demand for widebody aircraft in the Middle East, with the region expected to require nearly 3,000 new widebody aircraft over the next 20 years.
