Investigation into Dumping of Aluminum Frames from China

The Ministry of Trade has taken significant steps in the anti-dumping investigation initiated for aluminum frames for photovoltaic panels originated from China. Based on the preliminary findings of the investigation, the ministry has decided to implement a temporary measure to counter unfair competition in the sector.

Details of the Temporary Measure

The Communiqué on Preventing Unfair Competition in Imports has been published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect. According to this communiqué prepared by the ministry, the information and documents submitted as part of the application were meticulously examined by the Competition Assessment Board on Imports. As a result of these assessments, it was determined that there is sufficient evidence of damage caused by dumping and a causal link.

Implemented Temporary Measures and Their Impact

Within the framework of the mentioned temporary measures, customs administrations will collect guarantees based on the specified rates for the import of the relevant product under the free circulation regime. The duration of these temporary measures is set to a maximum of 6 months until the final decision related to the investigation is published in the Official Gazette.

Sectoral Effects and Future Expectations

These developments occur during a period of increasing demand for solar energy worldwide and intensifying competition in this field. Particularly, China's low-cost solar panel production poses competitive challenges for local producers in many countries. Future definitive decisions are keenly awaited regarding how they will affect the balance in the sector.
