Bolu Agriculture and Forestry Directorate teams seized 1,500 liters of fake olive oil that was prepared to be released into the market. The operation was carried out to protect consumers of quality olive oil, and the counterfeit products were collected before being distributed to stores.
The seized fake olive oil's 5-liter cans were being offered for sale at approximately 700 Turkish Liras. This situation raises concerns about fraud in the olive oil market.
Officials stated that the seized fake olive oils will be handed over to a company that holds environmental permits and licenses to be used as biodiesel. Additionally, it was learned that the company producing the olive oil would also face an administrative fine.
