As of today (December 16, Tuesday), the decline in Brent crude oil prices has had a positive effect on the fuel market. Following recent updates, a reduction of 2 TL has been applied to gasoline prices. This situation has been recorded as very encouraging news for drivers.
With the new discount, to provide examples from some of Turkey's largest cities; the average price of gasoline per liter in Istanbul is set at 52.55 TL, while in Ankara this figure has fallen to 53.34 TL, and in Izmir, it has decreased to 53.74 TL. These price changes will significantly reduce expenses in urban transportation.
The decline in Brent crude oil prices is a result of fluctuations in global markets. Changes in fuel prices like this can directly reduce fuel costs in countries dependent on oil imports, such as Turkey. Last week, there was also a 2 TL drop in diesel prices. However, it is noteworthy that there was an 80 kuruş increase in autogas prices alongside gasoline.
Following this news of reduction, while drivers will see decreased fuel costs, another point to pay attention to is the continuation of fluctuations in global oil prices. It remains a question whether fuel prices will maintain these levels in the future. Drivers will need to make long-term plans concerning these gasoline price levels.
