Recent market analyses indicate that there will be a drop in gasoline prices. According to industry experts, a reduction of 2 lira and 2 kuruş in the price of gasoline per liter is expected starting from Tuesday. This situation brings a significant advantage for fuel users.
Two key factors in the fluctuations of gasoline prices continue to be Brent oil prices and exchange rates. Especially the recent ups and downs in oil prices directly reflect on pump prices, thus they should be closely monitored. The timing and manner of the discounts will depend on the trends of these two factors.
Fuel prices vary significantly from city to city and even within different regions of a city. Current fuel prices are as follows:
In Turkey, gasoline and diesel prices are based on the customs-free refinery price. This price is determined by adding Excise Tax (ÖTV) and Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) share as the refinery sale price excluding VAT. Finally, the pump price is formed by adding VAT. The calculation of the customs-free refinery price takes into account the daily CIF Mediterranean product prices published in the Mediterranean-Italian market and the daily exchange rate.
