A California federal jury concluded its legal battle with medical device manufacturer Masimo, ruling that Apple infringed on a patent for its blood oxygen monitoring technology. The jury determined that the exercise mode and heart rate notification features on the Apple Watch violated Masimo's patent.

Apple's Anticipation of Appeal

A Apple spokesperson stated that they will appeal this decision, noting that "the only patent in this case expired in 2022 and is also specific to a historical patient monitoring technology."
