Approximately 18 million students and 1.2 million teachers in primary and secondary education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) are preparing to return to class tomorrow after the first mid-term break of the academic year. The first-term mid-term break, which was held from November 10 to 14, served as an important rest period for students and teachers.
Teachers continued their professional development online during the mid-term break. Meanwhile, students participated in the Atatürk Week events, carrying on the mission of upholding the values of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The coincidental combination of November 10, Atatürk Memorial Day, and November 11, National Afforestation Day, provided students an opportunity to express their connection to nature through tree planting activities.
At all educational levels, students prepared message cards reflecting their feelings about Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and love for their country, attaching them to the saplings they planted. These activities are significant for raising awareness among students and strengthening societal values.
Starting tomorrow, educational activities will resume across all 81 provinces. 18 million students and 1.2 million teachers will return to class, accelerating their educational journey. It is anticipated that the first term of the 2025-2026 academic year will end on January 16, 2026. The mid-year break will take place between January 19, 2026, and January 30, 2026. The second term will begin on February 2, 2026, and continue until June 26, 2026. The second-term mid-term break within the year 2026 will start on March 16, 2026, and end on March 20, 2026.
