Ziraat Bank has taken another step towards its target of a total of 2.7 billion dollars in syndication loans for the year 2025, as part of its sustainability-focused financing strategy. The bank continues to diversify its external financing by securing its second syndication loan this year.
The transaction was completed in two tranches, amounting to 509 million dollars and 413 million euros, with a maturity of 367 days. Thus, Ziraat Bank has secured a total of 988 million dollars in new external funding.
This syndication is notable for being the highest amount sustainability-themed loan ever provided by a Turkish bank. Executed with the participation of 31 banks, this significant financing is viewed as a step to strengthen Ziraat Bank's impact in the field of foreign trade.
Ziraat Bank General Manager Alpaslan Çakar stated, "With this step, we aim to enhance our sustainability-focused business model and reinforce our leadership in financing foreign trade. We will continue to contribute to the financing of foreign trade, particularly for sustainable agriculture projects and investments in the real sector, with more cost-effective sources compared to the first half of the year. In this transaction, we have set the financing of sustainable agriculture and support for the transition to a low-carbon economy as our performance criteria."
