Recently, security issues in the cryptocurrency ecosystem have come to the forefront once again with a dangerous attack on the platform called ZEROBASE. According to Lookonchain data, in an attack targeting the ZEROBASE interface, assets worth a total of $240,000 were stolen from over 270 users.

Details of the incident reveal that the attackers took over the ZEROBASE frontend to deceive users through a fake interface. Notably, a single user reportedly suffered a loss of 123,597 USDT, and at the core of the attack lies a phishing contract operating on the BNB Chain (Binance Smart Chain) that pretended to be the official ZEROBASE interface. Users were directed to grant approval for USDT through this fake contract, and their approvals were misused to steal assets from their wallets.

Lookonchain shared the addresses affected by this attack with the public, urging users to be more cautious. Following the attack, ZEROBASE issued a security announcement via its official social media accounts. The announcement provided the address of the malicious contract as 0x0dd28fd7d343401e46c1af33031b27aed2152396 and stated that additional security measures had been implemented.

In this context, if a wallet engaging in ZEROBASE Staking is detected to have interacted with this fake contract, deposit and withdrawal operations will be automatically halted. Users will need to revoke the approvals given to the fake contract for their transactions to be reopened. Authorities recommend that users utilize tools such as revoke.cash to cancel unnecessary or suspicious contract permissions. Furthermore, it is emphasized that users should avoid unofficial links, be cautious of impersonating administrators, and ensure the contract addresses displayed on wallet approval screens are properly checked.

Such attacks are among the elements that seriously threaten the security of cryptocurrency investors. In this regard, it is crucial for investors to remain cautious and take additional measures to ensure the safety of their assets.
