Farcaster co-founders Dan Romero and Varun Srinivasan have joined the stabilcoin-focused startup Tempo. This move indicates a shift from the crypto social media space towards blockchain-based payment systems.
This transition occurred after the infrastructure provider Neynar acquired Farcaster. Romero, Srinivasan, and a significant portion of the Merkle team chose to leave the project and pursue a new direction.
Tempo is a venture incubated by Stripe and Paradigm. Its goal is to create a fast, low-cost, and transparent stabilcoin-supported network for international payments. This system aims to provide an alternative solution to traditional cross-border payments.
