U.S. President Donald Trump described the G20 Summit being held in the Republic of South Africa as "a complete disgrace."
Trump stated through social media that he believed the G20 Summit being held in South Africa on November 22-23 was inappropriate.
Trump drew attention to violent actions against Africans from descendants of Dutch settlers and German immigrants, claiming these situations constitute human rights violations. "As long as these human rights violations continue, no U.S. government official will attend the meeting," he said.
During a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the White House last May, Trump focused on crimes committed against whites in South Africa, alleging that such crimes are not being prevented by the government. Ramaphosa, however, stated that they are trying to control crime rates and rejected the claim that crimes specifically targeting whites are being committed.
