Minister Kurum's Unique Italy: Reconstruction Campaign

The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum stated that Turkey is carrying out reconstruction and urban transformation efforts in disaster-affected areas at an unprecedented speed worldwide.

During his visit to Karabük, Minister Kurum inspected Kamiş village, which was severely affected by forest fires. He shared important information about the ongoing work at the ground-breaking ceremony for the disaster housing to be built for citizens whose homes were damaged during the disaster that occurred in July.

Kurum expressed that currently, the construction of a total of 35 village houses and 2 barns has begun in Karabük. He emphasized that these projects will not only create new living spaces but also lay the foundations for a new future for the disaster victims.

The Minister stated, "Here, we are not only building new housing, but we are also laying the foundations for a new future. We are constructing durable and modern living spaces that are suitable for village life and support production for our disaster victims. Inshallah, we will deliver the homes whose foundations we will lay today to our citizens next summer," he said.

Kurum pointed out that the ongoing efforts underscore Turkey's determination and dynamism in the field of urban transformation, highlighting the project's social impact as well as its economic dimension. The reconstruction process includes not only housing construction but also aims to enhance economic vitality in the region and strengthen social ties.

This mobilization for healing the wounds left by past disasters and reducing disaster risk seems to strengthen Turkey's leading position in the construction sector. Such projects enable not only the reconstruction of buildings but also the redesign of living spaces, adopting an adaptive approach and supporting sustainable development.
