The Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) has signed an important expropriation decision for fields in Kırklareli and Diyarbakır provinces as part of energy projects to be carried out in strategic regions. This decision was made by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and was published in the official gazette.
Following an examination by MAPEG, it has been decided to expropriate the location area and route of the Karpuzlu-1 well in the oil exploration field located in Diyarbakır province. This process has been expedited in consideration of the public interest. The total area of the parcels subject to urgent possession decisions in the relevant field has been determined as 16,163.42 square meters, highlighting the necessity of the expropriation. This situation constitutes an important step for investors to realize their projects more effectively and quickly.
Additionally, another decision made by MAPEG concerns the Çimenli1/Kumluca-2 natural gas pipeline project planned to be constructed at the borders of Kırklareli and Edirne. Here, it has been ruled that the 2,874.56 square meters portion of parcels that could not be purchased through agreement due to landowners' demands for prices above the market rate will be expropriated. Such projects support Turkey's goal of increasing energy supply security.
The expropriation processes carried out by TPAO will not only accelerate investments in the energy sector but also contribute to regional economic development. The increase in energy projects across the country aims to reduce Turkey's foreign dependence and ensure the effective use of domestic energy resources.
