Solo Bitcoin Miner Hit a 1 in 30,000 Chance

In recent times, with the fluctuations in prices, Bitcoin has drawn the attention of investors, especially due to a lucky bounty obtained by a solo miner. According to reports, this miner solved a block alone with a probability of approximately 1 in 30,000, earning a total of about 285,000 dollars.

This extraordinary event, which is rarely seen on the Bitcoin network, indicates that block number 927,474 was solved using the CKpool infrastructure. This solo miner earned a total of 3.133 Bitcoin (BTC) as a result of the transaction. The majority of this earnings came from the block subsidy of 3.125 Bitcoin, while the remaining 0.008 Bitcoin was composed of transaction fees. Using current prices, the miner's earnings amounted to approximately 284,633 dollars.

Con Kolivas, a developer at CKpool, stated that this miner has a total hash power of approximately 270 terahash/second (TH/s). This power comes from three separate mining devices commonly used, each producing an average of 90 TH/s. This level of hash power corresponds to only %0.00002 of the Bitcoin network's total estimated power of 1.15 zettahash/second (ZH/s). For comparison, publicly traded large mining companies MARA and IREN manage hash powers of 59.4 exahash/second (EH/s) and 50 EH/s, respectively.

It is known that small-scale miners often prefer to join mining pools to achieve more stable income. However, some miners continue to try solo mining due to the lottery-like chance of a big reward. Last month, another solo miner with only 6 TH/s hash power achieved similar success by surpassing a 1 in 180 million probability to find a block, earning about 265,000 dollars. This situation continues to draw the attention of Bitcoin investors and enthusiasts.
