The UK Foreign Office has announced new measures described as "the heaviest sanctions to date" against Russia's energy sector. These sanctions target important Russian energy companies, including Rosneft and Lukoil.

90 New Sanctions Implemented

The government is implementing a total of 90 new sanctions, aiming to target the energy sector and reduce Russia's influence in the energy market.

Targeted Assets and Transportation Vessels

The UK is expanding the scope of the sanctions to include 44 oil tankers, various privately owned liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers, and some oil and LNG terminals in China. This aims to complicate Russia's energy exports.
