Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) reported a net income of $7.55 billion for the third quarter, based in Spring, Texas. The company stated that its net income per share was $1.76. When factoring in restructuring costs and asset impairment costs, earnings per share were recorded at $1.88.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations, although Exxon does not adjust its reported results for one-time events such as asset sales. According to a survey by Zacks Investment Research, the average estimate from six analysts was that earnings per share would be $1.81.
During this period, the company generated $85.29 billion in revenue. However, this figure fell short of the expectations of $86.77 billion that analysts had forecasted.
