


Turkey continues to expand its product range by obtaining geographic indication registration from the European Union.
Most recently, İpsala Rice and Bursa Chestnut Candy succeeded in obtaining geographic indication registration from the EU. With this development, the number of products registered by Turkey in the EU has reached 42.
TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated on his social media account, "We have a rare product diversity in the world. We are making intense efforts for local and geographically indicated products," while emphasizing that efforts for the promotion of these products are ongoing.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı said, "Unique flavors belonging to Turkey will continue to find their place in international markets."
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated, "Our rice grown in the İpsala Plain and chestnut candy from Bursa are important parts of our brand story that extends from local to global."
Other famous products that Turkey has registered for geographic indication from the European Union include Gaziantep baklava, Aydın fig, Malatya apricot, Milas olive oil, and Ezine cheese.
