Bitcoin Has Entered the Maturity Phase: Galaxy Digital Shares Optimistic Predictions

Bitcoin (BTC) has entered a new phase with changing investor interest over time. Alex Thorn, Head of Research at Galaxy Digital, states that Bitcoin has now entered a more "mature" period. Especially at the beginning of the year, after Donald Trump's election victory attracted investors' attention, Bitcoin is now being evaluated with a longer-term perspective. However, it is said that investor interest has temporarily declined during this process.

In an interview with CNBC, Thorn said, "Interest in Bitcoin will return; this always happens," expressing that current portfolios have shifted towards other areas such as artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, quantum technology, and gold. He emphasized that these changes have created a healthy transition process for Bitcoin. Thorn stated, "The distribution from old investors to new ones in the market indicates a healthy phase for Bitcoin. We are entering a much more mature period, which means that Bitcoin ownership is spreading to a wider audience."

Galaxy Digital has revised its year-end price forecast for Bitcoin from $185,000 to $120,000. This prediction indicates approximately a 17% increase potential from the current level of $102,000. However, it has been observed that investor interest during this period has largely shifted to gold and artificial intelligence stocks. According to Thorn's statements, this situation has limited investments in Bitcoin. Additionally, JPMorgan analysts stated last month that the increase in gold volatility has made Bitcoin a more attractive investment alternative.

On the other hand, discussions within the industry continue regarding the possible effects of quantum computers on Bitcoin. Amit Mehra from Borderless Capital argues that this technology will not pose a long-term threat to Bitcoin, while Charles Edwards, founder of Capriole, suggested that it has become an urgent risk and that the need for solutions in the industry has increased. This situation is attracting investor attention and leading to various opinions about the future of Bitcoin.
