Hot Development in Fuel Prices: Gasoline Prices are Falling

Recent market analyses indicate that there will be a decrease in gasoline prices. According to industry experts, a 2 lira and 2 kuruş reduction in the price of gasoline per liter is expected starting from Tuesday. This situation brings significant advantages for fuel users.

The two most decisive factors in the fluctuations of gasoline prices continue to be Brent oil prices and exchange rates. Especially the recent ups and downs in oil prices directly affect pump prices, so they should be closely monitored. Fuel prices vary significantly from city to city and even within different areas of a city. Current fuel prices are as follows:

• Istanbul European Side: Gasoline: 54.51 TL, Diesel: 53.12 TL, LPG: 28.51 TL


• Istanbul Asian Side: Gasoline: 54.34 TL, Diesel: 52.95 TL, LPG: 27.88 TL


• Ankara: Gasoline: 55.35 TL, Diesel: 54.13 TL, LPG: 28.40 TL

Process of Calculating Fuel Prices

In Turkey, gasoline and diesel prices are based on the duty-free refinery price. This price is determined by adding Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) and the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) share to create the refinery sales price excluding VAT. Finally, the pump price is formed by adding VAT. In calculating the duty-free refinery price, the daily CIF Mediterranean product prices published in the Meditteranean-Italian market and the daily exchange rate are taken into account.
