


The first meeting to determine the minimum wage that will come into effect in 2026 started at 2:00 PM at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan, TÜRK-İŞ Deputy General Chairman Ramazan Ağar, and President of the Turkish Confederation of Employers' Unions (TİSK) Özgür Burak Akkol.
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission plays a critical role in determining the minimum wage as a structure consisting of representatives from workers, employers, and the government. Minister Işıkhan highlighted the importance of this process by listening to the thoughts of the parties during the meeting.
Minister Işıkhan noted that the approaches and evaluations of both parties are critical for the Commission's work. He also emphasized the need to strengthen social dialogue and consultation mechanisms.
Işıkhan stated that they listened to the expectations of the unions regarding the minimum wage, saying, "As a Ministry, we will continue our work based on social dialogue. We will complete the process with an open approach to social dialogue within the functioning of the Commission."
