BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, reached a record trading volume of over 284 million shares on Thursday. This surpassed the previous volume record with a nominal value exceeding 10 billion dollars.
This sudden increase in trading volume occurred while the IBIT price dropped by 13%, falling below $35. This marked the lowest level for IBIT since October 2024 and brought its year-to-date losses to 27%.
Significant pullbacks, record trading volume, and especially increasing demand for trading options indicate rising concerns among investors. This situation may signal the most intense selling phase of a prolonged bear market.
