Stockholm - The American artificial intelligence startup Anthropic announced on Friday plans to expand its operations across Europe by opening offices in the capital of France, Paris, and the city of Munich in Germany.
This move comes immediately after a large-scale global expansion aimed at tripling Anthropic’s international workforce. The company is evolving to meet the increasing demand for Claude AI large language models outside of the United States.
Based in San Francisco, Anthropic was last valued at $183 billion and is backed by Google's parent company Alphabet and Amazon.com. The company was founded in 2021 by former employees of OpenAI.
Anthropic, which already has offices in London, Dublin, and Zurich, tripled its workforce in the region last year. The company stated, "EMEA has become our fastest-growing region and our revenue grew by over 900% during the past year."
Anthropic counts European companies such as L'Oréal, BMW, SAP, Lovable, and N26 among its clients. The company indicated that its European workforce will cover every aspect of the business from research and engineering to sales and operations.
