Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized his country's commitment to its territorial integrity, stating, "My position on our land has not changed." This statement came during a joint press conference held in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, with Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda.
Zelenskiy announced that the Ukrainian security guarantees document is ready to be signed as part of the negotiations with the USA for the end of the war. "The document is 100% ready, and we are waiting for our allies to agree on the date and place for signing it," he said. Following this step, the document will be submitted to the U.S. Congress and the Ukrainian Parliament for approval.
Zelenskiy highlighted the importance of the negotiations held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates between Russia, Ukraine, and the USA. Emphasizing the proposals being sought by the U.S. for ending the war, Zelenskiy stated that all parties need to accept a possible compromise. "A 20-point peace plan and contentious issues are being discussed. There were many difficult topics; however, the number of these has now decreased," he said.
Zelenskiy also referred to Ukraine's integration process with the European Union (EU), expressing his belief that the country will be ready for EU membership by 2027. This goal is closely related to Ukraine's desire to strengthen its position in international politics.
