Rui-Siang Lin, a 24-year-old Taiwanese individual, was known by the alias "Pharaoh" as the operator of the dark web narcotics market Incognito Market. Lin was sentenced to 30 years in prison by a U.S. federal court.
Prosecutors noted that Incognito Market processed over $105 million in illegal drug sales from October 2020 to March 2024, conducting more than 640,000 transactions for hundreds of thousands of buyers worldwide. Allegedly, Lin's operation resulted in at least one death and exacerbated the opioid crisis.
U.S. authorities identified Lin's activities through blockchain analysis, covert purchases, and record-keeping. These records included Lin's real name, phone number, and address. This information clearly established his role in the Incognito Market.
