Turkey's flour exports reached their highest level in the past 17 months in October 2023. This striking increase is considered a significant turning point by industry representatives. As a result of fluctuations in recent years, a 41% increase was achieved in October.

The recovery in flour and wheat flour exports came after a declining trend throughout the year. Experts indicate that this increase has given a new momentum to Turkey's overall trade in the last quarter of the year. Officials predict that this positive development will continue in the coming months.

Çakmak reminded that Turkey's wheat flour exports were 171 thousand tons and 67 million dollars in October last year, while this year, the same period recorded 241 thousand tons and 86 million dollars. This increase is directly linked to the rising demand in the markets and improvements in production capacity.

The increase experienced in October will have significant reflections not only in terms of numbers but also in moral and motivational aspects within the sector. This positive atmosphere in flour and wheat production can contribute to the entire agricultural production chain, and may create stability that helps to elevate export targets further.

Sector officials state that such momentum will strengthen Turkey's position among processed food products, paving the way for a more solid place in the global market. With the increase in exports, it is anticipated that Turkey's competitiveness in the flour and wheat flour market will rise, creating positive effects directly on the economy.
