


According to data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB), Türkiye's automotive industry achieved 3.1 billion dollars in exports in January 2023, showing a 2.2% increase. This figure indicates that the automotive sector accounts for 17.4% of the country's total exports.
Exports of Tractors and Buses, Minibuses, Midibuses experienced double-digit growth, particularly in countries such as Spain, Italy, and Poland. Moreover, exports to other EU countries recorded a 7% increase.
OİB Board Chairman Baran Çelik stated, “Starting this year with the highest January exports in history has been a significant morale booster for our industry. This picture once again highlights the strength of Turkey’s automotive sector in technology and quality,” he said.
In January, the largest product group, Suppliers, exported 1 billion 304 million dollars with a 4% increase, while passenger car exports decreased by 5% to 904 million dollars. On the other hand, Tractors decreased by 39%, Buses-Minibuses-Midibuses decreased by 11%, and Motor Vehicles for Goods Transport decreased by 0.4% to 480 million dollars.
Germany continues to be the country to which Turkey exports the most, with exports amounting to 490 million dollars, reflecting a 6% increase. Exports to France decreased by 5%, totaling 311 million dollars. Meanwhile, export increases to significant markets such as Spain and Poland stand out.
Exports to EU countries increased by 7%, reaching 2 billion 282 million dollars. Exports to African countries recorded an increase of 43%. On the other hand, a decrease of 21% was observed in the North American Free Trade Area, 38% in the Middle Eastern countries, and 39% in Other American countries.
