Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT) announced on October 28, 2025, the first comprehensive thermal management system reference design specifically developed for gigawatt-scale artificial intelligence data centers, prepared for NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint. This pioneering solution sets new standards in performance, scalability, and rapid deployment.
Mauro Atalla, Trane Technologies Senior Vice President and Head of Technology and Sustainability, stated, "Our new reference design embodies our commitment to delivering state-of-the-art solutions for the most advanced artificial intelligence data center architectures." Close collaboration with NVIDIA significantly enhances the performance and energy efficiency of thermal management systems while ensuring rapid deployment and scalability. This innovation highlights our determination to support the next generation of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The new Trane Technologies thermal management system reference design enables data center operators to simultaneously manage power, water, and land resources by providing critical temperature control. This results in continuously optimized performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Additionally, this system meets the advanced power and cooling requirements of the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 infrastructure, offering optimal performance for Blackwell and next-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems.
Dion Harris, NVIDIA Senior Director of HPC, Cloud, and Infrastructure Solutions, remarked, "Power and thermal efficiency have become fundamental components of next-generation artificial intelligence infrastructure that meet the demands of logic and other inference workloads." NVIDIA collaborates with Trane Technologies to develop efficient cooling solutions and reference designs aimed at providing higher density, greater continuity, and faster deployment of gigawatt-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Trane Technologies reference design is integrated with digital twins for artificial intelligence factories included in the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint. This allows project developers to gather 3D data from various sources using OpenUSD; it helps engineers overcome complex challenges in the design, simulation, and deployment of gigawatt-scale artificial intelligence factories with unparalleled speed and flexibility.
Last September, Trane Technologies expanded the Trane chiller facility control software application tailored to the unique operational needs and conditions of modern data centers. Trane continues to strengthen its comprehensive thermal management systems portfolio with scalable liquid cooling platforms, efficient fan coil wall platforms, air-cooled chillers with larger capacities and higher operating temperatures, and modern Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) solutions designed for artificial intelligence workloads.
