Trabzon Sea Surface Airport: Tender and Construction Calendar

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made important statements regarding the new airport project to be built over the sea in Trabzon. This striking project will reshape the aviation infrastructure of the region and significantly increase aviation capacity.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the tender for the Trabzon New Airport is planned to be held within the year 2023. Expressing that preparations for the tender have gained momentum, Uraloğlu announced that works would begin in 2024 after the tender.

The Trabzon New Airport will be the third airport in Turkey to be built over the sea. With this project, Trabzon aims to become an important hub in both national and international air traffic.
