Tesla experienced a significant drop in sales in several European countries in October. This situation indicates that the challenges for the American electric vehicle manufacturer in Europe continue.

According to local industry data published on Monday, new vehicle registrations in Sweden fell by 89%. In Denmark, sales decreased by 86%, while in The Netherlands, there was a decline of more than half.

Despite this decline, sales of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models across the industry rose by 119%. Tesla's sales in Europe have decreased this year due to a small and aging model lineup. Additionally, it faced increased competition from local rivals and Chinese brands.

In Denmark, Tesla was surpassed by several Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers, including BYD and Xpeng. The company also faced backlash from some European consumers against CEO Elon Musk. Musk had supported Donald Trump in last year's United States presidential election and had also shown support for far-right parties in Europe.
