


The U.S. Treasury Department has updated its borrowing estimates for the periods of October-December 2023 and January-March 2026.
In the announcement, it was reported that borrowing is expected to be 569 billion dollars in the fourth quarter of 2025, which is 21 billion dollars lower than the figures announced in July.
The cash balance at the end of December is projected to be 850 billion dollars. Additionally, a borrowing of 578 billion dollars is expected in the first quarter of next year, and the cash balance at the end of March is again expected to be 850 billion dollars.
The department announced that it borrowed a total of 1.058 trillion dollars in the July-September period, and that the cash balance at the end of that quarter was 891 billion dollars. In the July estimate, borrowing of 1.007 trillion dollars was projected for the third quarter of this year.
