Erdal Bahçıvan: We Must Take Strategic Steps for the Economy

İstanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Board Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan made significant statements during his meetings in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Meeting with Azerbaijani businesspeople along with a delegation, Bahçıvan emphasized the need to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.

Bahçıvan drew attention to the importance of maintaining the political relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan on a strong foundation in all areas, including the economic field. Using the phrase "The brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan should now turn into economic partnership," Bahçıvan stated that strategic steps should be taken to increase the trade volume between the countries and to multiply investments in the industry sector.

In the discussions held, significant evaluations were made to identify synergy areas that would mutually benefit the business worlds of the two countries. Bahçıvan argued that in line with the objectives of deepening economic relations and increasing cooperation, careful and strategic behavior is necessary, akin to playing chess. He expressed that this approach could yield significant results in enhancing efficiency, especially in the fields of industry and trade.

Moreover, Bahçıvan added that he believes joint ventures and projects in the industrial field between the two countries will further accelerate economic development and that these joint investments contribute to the sustainable growth of both Turkey and Azerbaijan. He also presented his suggestions on how Turkey's strong industrial infrastructure could become more efficient in relations with Azerbaijan.

Thus, collaboration between Azerbaijan and Turkey is manifesting not only in the trade sector but also in significant areas such as investment and technology transfer. It is anticipated that the initiatives led by Bahçıvan will facilitate the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries.
