According to the latest exit polls published by Kyodo, the party led by Takaiçi is on track to secure 233 out of the 465 seats in Japan's national parliament.
This result represents a significant gain for the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), which held 198 seats before the elections, and will substantially increase the party's influence within the parliament.
On the other hand, the Centrist Reform Alliance in the opposition is expected to lose seats. This could lead to a shift in the political balance.
Of the 465 seats in the parliament, 289 are from single-member districts, while the remaining are determined by a proportional representation system across 11 districts. The party that will win 233 seats will achieve a majority in the parliament. Nationwide, 1284 candidates will compete in this race.
