The National Dairy Council (USK) will announce the recommended raw milk price for the first quarter of 2026 in a meeting to be held tomorrow. The current price was set at 19.60 TL per liter starting from October 1, 2025.
Last week, USK announced the production cost of raw milk for December as 19.08 TL per liter, stating that the cost increased by 3.80% compared to the 18.38 TL cost in November. This change reflects a year-on-year increase of 33.14% compared to the 14.33 TL cost in December 2024.
In a statement made today by the All Milk, Meat, and Breeding Cattle Breeders Association (TÜSEDAD), it was emphasized that the hot raw milk recommended price should be at least 27 TL/Liter + cooling and service fees as of December 15.
TÜSEDAD stated that USK had not fulfilled its obligations and reminded that the recommended raw milk price should be determined by January 1, 2026. As a result of the decisions made at the National Milk Workshop held on January 19-21, 2024, it was planned to update raw milk prices every three months.
TÜSEDAD emphasized that the proposed price of 27 TL/Liter is essential for dairy producers to survive. The statement said, "Continuing production by producers is vital for closing the red meat deficit in Turkey."
