Şişecam Launches New Line at its Production Facility in Bulgaria

Şişecam announced the launch of a second coated glass line at its flat glass facility in Bulgaria, in addition to its existing coated glass line, with a total investment of 20 million euros. This new line is considered an important step towards Şişecam's goal of increasing its value-added product capacity in the architectural glass market in Europe.

Expanded Product Range with New Production Line

The new coated glass line will enable the production of temperable and energy-efficient products. Şişecam aims to enhance its operational flexibility with this investment, achieving a broader production range and more extensive R&D opportunities.

Growing Goals in the European Market

With increased capacity, Şişecam aims to offer high-value solutions to the European market, such as high-tech coated glasses that provide high light transmittance, insulating glasses, bird-friendly glasses, and heated "thermally insulating" glasses for the automotive sector. This way, it aims to respond to the demand for sustainable and high-performance glass.

Strategic Investments and Future Vision

Şişecam's General Manager Can Yücel announced that the annual 6 million square meters capacity coated glass line has been commissioned with the new line investment. This investment is part of their strategic goals of enhancing value for customers and increasing cost discipline and efficiency.

Yücel stated that they will raise the number of coated glass lines to 7, with an annual capacity of 7 million square meters at the flat glass facilities in Tarsus and 6.5 million square meters at the facilities in Northern Italy. Their total coated glass capacity will increase to 48.1 million square meters.
