Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, stated during a meeting with a senior Democratic lawmaker that he could not comment on the suspended enforcement action against Justin Sun and his Tron Foundation. However, he expressed that he might consider organizing a confidential briefing for legislative officials.
During an oversight hearing in the House Financial Services Committee, Democrats criticized the SEC's enforcement posture towards cryptocurrencies, while Republicans focused on Atkins' intention to present cryptocurrency regulations.
Atkins stated that the agency continues to work on rules with the aim of aligning more closely with the Clarifying Crypto Market Structure Act. However, he also emphasized that the outcome of this bill in the Senate remains uncertain.
