The eco-friendly transformation in heating systems is starting.

A New Regulation Published in the Official Gazette

The Ministry of Industry and Technology has taken an important step by publishing the regulation titled "Regulation on the Eco-Design Requirements for Space Heaters and Related Controls" in the Official Gazette.

Target Audience and Scope of Application

This regulation covers residential space heaters with a nominal thermal power of 50 kilowatts and below, as well as commercial space heaters with a nominal thermal power of below 300 kilowatts. Additionally, independent controls related to the products are also within the scope of this regulation.

Eco-Design Requirements

According to the new regulation, all space heaters and controls must meet the specified eco-design requirements. Compliance will be measured and calculated using the methods outlined in the regulation.

Restrictions Imposed on Manufacturers and Importers

Manufacturers, importers, or authorized representatives will not be able to market space heaters that have undergone abnormal behavior or changes in characteristics during the testing process. Furthermore, specific test instructions that negatively affect any parameter of the products cannot be determined.

Previous Regulation Repealed

On the other hand, the previous regulation published on June 26, 2022, has been repealed. The new regulation will enter into force 1 year later.
