Borsa Istanbul shared data for the January 2023 period. Foreign investors, through banks, brokerage firms, and individual investors, made a total stock purchase worth 49.95 billion dollars. The total sales during this period were recorded at 47.96 billion dollars. The total trading volume reached 97.91 billion dollars.


Preferred Stocks of Foreign Investors


In January, the most interest was shown in banking and industrial companies. Akbank was the most preferred stock by foreign investors, with 266.7 million dollars in purchases. This was followed by Koç Holding with 217.7 million dollars and Yapı Kredi Bankası with 201 million dollars in net purchases. Additionally, significant companies such as Tüpraş, Garanti BBVA, and Ereğli Demir Çelik also attracted the interest of foreign investors.


Other Prominent Stocks


Other companies that drew the attention of foreign investors included Astor Enerji, Turkcell, İş Bankası C, and Migros. These companies stood out particularly due to the increase in investor confidence and the positive development of market dynamics.


Least Preferred Stocks


On the other hand, the stock with the highest sales by foreign investors was Sasa Polyester, which saw total sales of 141.6 million dollars. Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik, BİM Birleşik Mağazalar, and Gen İlaç were also among the other stocks where sales were concentrated.


Stocks with Decreased Interest


Other stocks ignored by foreign investors include Tera Yatırım, Türkiye Sigorta, Kuyumcukent Gayrimenkul, Kardemir D, Politeknik Metal, and Ral Yatırım Holding. This situation indicates that investors are analyzing market trends and stock performance.
