


Brad Smith, Vice Chairman and President of Microsoft, shared details of the investments to be made in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a blog post.
It was noted that nearly two and a half years ago, a artificial intelligence initiative was launched with the support of the US and UAE governments. Under this initiative, it was reported that Microsoft aims to invest a total of $15.2 billion in the UAE between 2023 and 2030.
The post states that more than $7.3 billion will be invested in the UAE by the end of 2023. This investment figure includes a $1.5 billion capital investment in the artificial intelligence company G42, over $4.6 billion spent on advanced artificial intelligence and cloud data centers, as well as local operating expenses and the cost of goods sold.
It is stated that over $7.9 billion will be spent in the UAE from the beginning of next year until the end of 2029. This amount includes more than $5.5 billion in capital expenditures for expanding artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure alongside new initiatives to be announced in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, approximately $2.4 billion related to planned local operating expenses and the cost of goods sold is added to this figure.
