On October 28, 2023, during the Cabinet meeting, Spain approved the purchase of 45 HÜRJET aircraft from Turkey. The agreement is aimed at providing an Integrated Training System (ITS-C) for fighter and attack aircraft and is valued at 3.12 billion euros.
The necessity of the approved contract highlights the need to update and renew the training capabilities for pilots of the Spanish Air Force and Space Force. This system will allow for adequate preparation to conduct effective operations in new and complex security scenarios.

The delivery of the HÜRJETs is planned to begin in 2028, with the first shipment expected to be used in the 2029/2030 training period. The HÜRJETs are expected to remain operational for at least 30 years.
In this project, Airbus stands out as the national coordinator, while Aciturri, Aernnova, Aertec, Airtificial, and a total of 15 major aerospace companies will contribute to the project. Additionally, it is stated that 1.04 billion euros of credit will be provided over a 5-year period with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Industry.
