The weakening of the dollar may present significant opportunities for some large U.S. companies. The statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the depreciation of the dollar further highlight this situation. Especially companies with overseas sales become insulated against a weakening dollar, while the profits they earn in local currencies provide greater dollar income when returned to the U.S.
CNBC Pro evaluated FactSet data to identify companies that could benefit from a weaker dollar. As a result, companies in the S&P 500 that generate more than 75% of their total sales from abroad are as follows:
Travel technology company Booking Holdings, which has gained approximately 9% in value in the last 12 months, is one of the standout names on the list. Approximately 90% of the company’s total sales currently come from abroad. Bank of America has reiterated a “BUY” rating for Booking Holdings stock, highlighting its AI functionality and attractive valuation. Analysts emphasized that the company is the best choice for 2026. Booking Holdings is expected to offer more functionality in 2026, following its investments in artificial intelligence made in 2025.
Applied Materials has also performed significantly, gaining 95% in value over the past year. Approximately 89% of the company’s total sales come from abroad. Mizuho raised its rating to “OUTPERFORM” ahead of the company’s first-quarter earnings report to be announced on February 12. Analyst Vijay Rakesh stated that he raised the target price from $275 to $370 and expressed confidence that AMAT would benefit from increased investment spending in the U.S., Taiwan, and Japan.
In this context, the weakening dollar presents significant opportunities for strong companies across various sectors. These stocks are among those that investors should evaluate carefully.
