


Minister Mehmet Şimşek, elaborating on the inflation data announced in October, made significant statements regarding the disinflation process.
Indicating that the annual inflation rate was realized at 64 and 65 percent at the end of 2022 and 2023 respectively, Şimşek predicted that this figure would decrease to 44 percent for 2024, and to 32.9 percent in October 2025.
Pointing out that some temporary fluctuations might occur during the disinflation process, the Minister stated, "The recent slowdown does not mean that the overall picture has changed. We believe that disinflation will continue thanks to supportive global and domestic conditions."
Expressing that the planned tax and fee updates for 2026, within the framework of budgetary capabilities, will be at levels lower than the revaluation rate, taking into account inflation targets, the Minister stated that they are implementing determined policies in line with the permanent price stability goals.
Stating that structural steps have been taken to reduce supply-side pressures on inflation, the Minister emphasized that they would proceed with determination in this process.
