Minister Kurum's Unique Italy: Reconstruction Campaign

The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum stated that they are carrying out reconstruction and urban transformation efforts in Turkey's disaster areas at an unprecedented pace globally.

During his visit to Karabük, Minister Kurum examined Kamiş village, which was severely affected by forest fires. At the groundbreaking ceremony for the disaster housing to be built for citizens whose homes were damaged in the disaster that occurred in July, he shared important information about the ongoing efforts.

Kurum indicated that a total of 35 village houses and 2 barns are currently under construction in Karabük. He emphasized that these projects will not only create new living spaces but will also lay the foundations for a new future for the disaster victims.

The Minister stated, "Here, we are not just building new houses, but we are also laying the foundations for a new future. We are constructing resilient and modern living spaces that are suitable for village life and support production for our disaster-affected brothers and sisters. God willing, we will deliver the homes whose foundations we will lay today to our citizens next summer," he said.

Stating that the ongoing efforts demonstrate Turkey's determination and dynamism in the field of urban transformation, Minister Kurum also touched upon the economic aspect of the project along with its social impacts. The reconstruction process involves not only the construction of housing but also aims to enhance economic vitality in the region and strengthen social ties.

This mobilization to heal the wounds after past disasters and reduce disaster risk seems to reinforce Turkey's leading position in the construction sector.
