Operation Against Counterfeit Olive Oil and Honey in Aydın

In the Köşk district of Aydın, a total of 10,650 kilograms of olive oil, 400 kilograms of pine honey, and 100 kilograms of pomegranate molasses were seized by gendarmerie teams in an operation estimated to have a market value of 3 million 395 thousand TL.

Details of the Operation

The KOM Branch Directorate of the Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Köşk District Gendarmerie Command teams launched an extensive investigation based on information that counterfeit products were to be sent from Aydın to Çanakkale and Bursa. The operation was carried out together with personnel from the Köşk District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.

Seized Products

As a result of the search, in addition to a total of 10,650 kg of olive oil, 400 kg of pine honey, and 100 kg of pomegranate molasses, 640 fake packages and boxes were also found. It was revealed that the seized products were counterfeit and produced through illegal means.

Investigation Continues

While the investigation related to the incident is ongoing, necessary precautions are being taken to prevent counterfeit products from entering the market. Such illegal activities are meticulously monitored for the health and safety of the public.
