Aselsan (ASELS), through statements made by its general manager Ahmet Akyol, announced its goal of increasing the number of countries it operates in from 25 to 30. In line with this goal, it continues to submit proposals for projects across NATO and Europe. Akyol stated that they are taking steps to increase Turkey's influence in the international market.
Akyol expressed that Aselsan has previously carried out many partnership projects abroad but has not directly purchased foreign firms. He also indicated that, based on the level Turkey has reached in the defense industry, there could be new collaborations in the future.
According to Akyol, Aselsan's overseas sales increased by 89% in 2022, rising from 508 million dollars to 958 million dollars. The company’s new export contracts are expected to more than double by 2025, reaching 2.69 billion dollars. These figures reflect the impressive results of Aselsan’s global growth strategy.
Additionally, Akyol provided information about Turkey's Steel Dome project, stating that this system is designed to prevent threats ranging from unmanned aerial vehicles to ballistic missiles, integrating local radars and command control systems. Akyol also added that last year’s highest business volume was developed based on the Steel Dome project.
Aselsan also announced that the first phase of its new technology base Oğulbey, for which the foundation has been laid in Ankara, will be operational this year. The facility, which will span an area of 7,000 acres, is estimated to require an investment of 1.5 billion dollars, and it aims to create over 10,000 jobs.
In conclusion, Aselsan’s international targets and strong growth strategies paint a promising picture for investors.
