Last year, the foot-and-mouth disease adversely impacted the livestock sector across Turkey, and this year it reappeared in Aksaray. The Aksaray Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry had to take urgent measures in the region where the disease spread.
The disease was detected in some animals during inspections by the Aksaray's Ortaköy District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate teams in Satansarı village. This situation led to the initiation of urgent quarantine practices in various villages of Aksaray.
In Aksaray, the villages where animal entry and exit have been halted are: Satansarı, Balcı, Ceceli, Reşadiye, Sarıkaraman, Durhasanlı, Pirli, Kümbet, and Bozkır. These 9 villages have been placed under quarantine due to potential risks.
