The Ministry of Trade announced that as of the evening of December 2, truck operations at the Ipşala and Kipi Customs Gates have stopped due to ongoing strikes in Greece. It was stated that necessary precautions were taken to exclude the passage of certain food and other products from the strike.
Due to the strike carried out by farmers in Greece, truck traffic on the roads on the Greek side has been closed, resulting in a complete halt of truck operations at the Ipşala and Kipi Customs Gates. The ministry announced this situation to the public through its social media accounts.
The Ormenio Customs Gate at the Greek border has also been closed by farmers. Additionally, it has been reported that similar actions will take place at the Bulgarian and Macedonian border gates, with truck crossings not being allowed. The strike is expected to last from December 15 to 21.
The ministry emphasized that they are continuing efforts to exempt refrigerated truck vehicles transporting fish, eggs, fruits, vegetables, flowers, medical supplies, and tankers carrying chemicals with ADR certificates used for hazardous materials from the strike.
