In the current period, TP Petrol Dağıtım AŞ has drawn attention with its notification to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK). It has been determined that the amounts of fuel in Antalya and Hatay are 18,476 tons less than the amounts reported by STAR Refinery. This situation has laid the groundwork for an investigation launched against the company.

Statement That Caught the State's Attention

During inspections conducted between October 22-24, a significant mismatch was found between the figures reported by STAR Refinery for the facilities in Antalya and Hatay Dörtyol and the data reported by TP Petrol Dağıtım AŞ. This situation has deepened with the complaint made by STAR Refinery, claiming that billed products were sold without their knowledge, to the Antalya and Hatay Dörtyol Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.

Potential Loss of 1 Billion Lira

In a detailed examination conducted by the teams from the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department, it was determined that TP Petrol Dağıtım AŞ was missing 4,009 tons of fuel with a market value of 232 million 256 thousand lira in its Antalya depot, and 14,467 tons of fuel with a market value of 820 million 561 thousand lira in its Hatay Dörtyol depot. Following this significant discrepancy, 9 suspects were taken into custody as part of the operation.

Detentions and Arrests

Among the suspects taken into custody, 3 were arrested by the court to which they were presented. The management team taken into custody in Antalya includes the general manager M.B, former general manager Ç.D, supply manager H.G, and facility manager O.E.C. Additionally, other suspects detained during operations in Istanbul and Fethiye district of Muğla were released.

Important figures in the company’s management, such as İsfendiyar Zülfikari and A.Ç.Y, being abroad may affect the course of the investigation. The judicial process of this incident and potential financial consequences will be closely monitored in the markets.
